Montgomery County Community College’s Drama Club and Theatre Arts program are proud to present “Prelude to a Kiss” by Craig Lucas, a romantic comedy/fable about loving the right person—no matter what.
Show dates are Nov. 21 and 23 at 8 p.m.; Nov. 23 and 24 at 2 pm; and a special lunchtime performance Friday, Nov. 22 at 12:30 pm. All performances will be held in MCCC’s Blackbox Theatre, Science Center room 107, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell.
A finalist for the Pulitzer prize, Craig Lucas’ “Prelude to a Kiss” is contemporary fable for adults, filled with humor and romance. Rita and Peter, a young couple, fall in love in a whirlwind courtship, then have a magical wedding in which a mysterious old man arrives to kiss the bride and changes everything the couple expected for their life together.
“In love, anything can happen and to love someone is to be ready for that challenge, that unexpected moment, at any time,” says director Marilyn Shanok. This production contains adult themes and language.
The cast includes Tyler Sanderson, Julia McIntyre, Khalil Lewis, Bruno Alves, Sarah Davis, Vince Fittipaldi, Mila Romero Dos Santos, Patrick Carlino, Nathan Smith, Steven Buck, Kelly Maguire, and Keyanna Ebron. The production is stage managed by Mackenzie Walters; Carolyn Dixon serves as production manager. The production is designed, produced and presented by the students of the Drama Club and Theatre Production Workshop, under the guidance of Tim Gallagher and Michael Whistler and Director Marilyn Shanok assisted by Timothy Odom.
