Dance, Music Students Present Spring Performances

Montgomery County Community College invites the community to its Spring Dance Concert on April 26 and Spring Performing Arts Showcase performances on April 29 and May 1 and 2 in the Science Center Theater, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell. All four performances are free of charge and open to the public.

The Dance Performance Ensemble Spring Concert will be held Friday evening, April 26, at 8 p.m. The concert will feature dances by student choreographers and our two alumni interns in a wide array of dance styles, including hip hop, jazz, modern and Italian Renaissance dance. Following the concert, a reception will be held for audience members to meet the dancers and choreographers.

On Monday, April 29, at 12:30 p.m. students will present a one-hour matinee sampler performance of music and dance.

The evening performances will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, and Thursday, May 2. On May 1, the Choral Department will present “Vivi Verdi and Wagner,” in celebration of the centennials of Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi and German composer/conductor Richard Wagner. The Dance Ensemble also will perform this evening.

On May 2, students will present “An Evening of Jazz and More,” featuring the jazz ensemble, as well as dance and other musical selections. Receptions will be held at the conclusion of each performance to provide opportunities for the audience to meet the students.
