West Campus to Host Sexual Assault Awareness/Prevention Program

by Jeffrey Nartowicz

Montgomery County Community College will host a Sexual Assault Awareness/Prevention program on Wednesday, March 13 from 12:30-2 p.m. in the South Hall Community Room, 101 College Drive Pottstown.

The program will begin with a  25-minute video, “Speak Out and Stand Up,” produced by Security on Campus and hosted by “Twilight” actress Kristen Stewart. The video emphasizes the serious topic of sexual assault through diverse student voices and experts in the field. Dramatized scenes highlight the impact of sexual assault on the victim, as well as the important roles of friends and bystanders.

The video will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from law enforcement, probation, parole, health care and victim’s advocates, a member from the College’s Student Support & Referral Team (SSRT).

The program is free of charge and is open to the public. For additional information, contact Counselor Michael Ondo mondo@mc3.edu or 610-718-1857.
