The College’s West Campus Cafeteria held a grand re-opening celebration last Wednesday to introduce its new chef, John Rickenbacker. Born in South Carolina and raised in Philadelphia, he moved back to the area after serving in the U.S. Air Force.
John worked his way up from fry cook to grill cook at Carolina’s, then at Sfuzzi’s and Coco Pazzo, where he learned different styles of Italian cooking and worked his way up to sous chef. He has been with Williamson’s/CulinArt since 2000, working his way up from sous chef to a chef/manager eight years ago. He has run dining accounts at GMAC Mortgage, Rohm & Haas, and Burlington County Community College.
John is comfortable with fresh and healthy menus, and he understands the importance of cooking local and sustainable foods. Most importantly, he welcomes your questions, suggestions and input!
