Nominations are being sought from Montgomery County Community College faculty and staff for the College’s 2012 Innovation of Year. Nominations should be submitted to Executive Director of Human Resources Diane O’Connor (email@example.com or Physical Education Center 102) by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9.
The award winners will be recognized at the annual Innovation of the Year Award breakfast in spring 2012 and will be added to the College’s Wall for Innovation in the Advanced Technology Center. Winners are also forwarded to the League for Innovation in the Community College for national recognition in a program that is designed to showcase innovation at America’s community colleges.
In addition to advancing the College’s strategic plan, innovations should meet one or more of the following criteria:
|Quality||The innovation increases “quality” in the course, program, office, or institution.|
|Efficiency||The innovation contributes to a more efficient way of doing things.|
|Cost Effectiveness||The innovation adds value to the College while at the same time containing or reducing costs.|
|Replication||The innovation can be replicated in other institutions with a minimum of difficulty.|
|Creativity||The innovation is original or the adaptation should be creative.|
|Timeliness||The innovation is not to be more than five years old in the College, but it must have been around long enough to have been tested so that it meets most of the criteria.|
