On July 29, Upward Bound students had the opportunity to experience The Lest We Forget Traveling Slavery Museum in the Advanced Technology Center at the Central Campus. The museum includes a cross-section of authentic slave relics, including shackles, manacles, branding irons and other forms of iron restraints. These objects enable viewers to understand just how different coming to America was for enslaved Africans who were captured and held in bondage for hundreds of years. As part of the experience, the students viewed the documentary My Slave Sister Myself, followed by a Q&A session.
