The program recognizes model institutions while compiling detailed benchmarking data about industry trends in 12 categories. The results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institutional audit that captures demographics and workplace policies and a survey administered to faculty and staff to solicit employee feedback.
“Building a model and modern workplace is one of six facets outlined in the College’s current strategic plan,” explains Dr. Karen A. Stout, President. “We are committed to offering employees the tools, professional development opportunities and organizational climate that supports excellence and satisfaction in recognition that the success of our students depends on employees having a supportive work environment.”
For 2011, the College received honors in two categories: compensation and benefits and high-quality teaching environment. Specifically, the College was cited for its efforts in keeping up with the latest developments in faculty pedagogy through such programs as the Digital Campus Academy and annual professional development days. The College was also recognized for its efforts to ensure that compensation is fair and meets the needs of its employees.
“It’s easier to be a great workplace during good times, but it’s when times are tough that the commitment to workplace quality really gets tested,” said Richard K.
