Learn About Business Ownership Basics at Free SCORE Workshop

by Diane VanDyke

If you ever wondered whether you could start your own business, you should attend the free SCORE workshop, “Business Ownership Basics—Live Your Dream,” on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at Montgomery County Community College’s Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, Parkhouse Hall room 194, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell.

A representative from SCORE, a non-profit organization that provides free counseling to entrepreneurs, will discuss the importance of having a vision, strategy and structure, as well as methods to develop and grow your business. Participants can do a self-assessment and evaluation to see whether being an entrepreneur is a good fit for them.

To register, visit http://www.score513.scorecast.org/events.php?eid=491. The workshop is free and open to the public.

The College’s new Center for Entrepreneurial Studies with a business incubator offers entrepreneurs an array of free support services, including legal, accounting, marketing and technology. Representatives from the Small Business Association and SCORE are available by appointment to answer your business questions.

For more information about the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies or the business incubator, contact CES Director Ayisha Sereni at 215-461-1140.
