Chaired by West Campus SGA President Grace Pusey and Central Campus SGA Vice President Joshua Schwartz, the 12-hour Relay will take place from 6 p.m. on Friday, April 29 to 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 30 at the College’s Central Campus in Blue Bell.
The College’s Relay for Life is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni families and friends, who will have the opportunity to register their teams in late January.
“Our goal is to raise $20,000 from now until the Relay, and every dollar raised will go to the Montgomery County chapter of the American Cancer Society,” said Josh.
The purpose of the kick-off during the week of Nov. 29 is to educate the College community about the Relay for Life and to begin soliciting corporate and community sponsorships for the April event. Both campuses will sport purple posters and the College’s student and employee online portals and website will be turn purple. Student volunteers donning purple clothing will also be available to answer questions about the Relay throughout the day.
Grace and Josh put together a College-wide Relay planning team that partners students with faculty and staff as committee co-chairs.
“Through the planning of the event, we hope that the student and staff co-chairs form a mentoring relationship,” said Josh.
